Spanish Solidarity with Cuba joins the World Day in Support of the Campaign "With the same coin"
 
Several members of the Spanish NGO distributed brochures for the campaign through the streets of Madrid and Zaragoza
 
February 20, 2008 .- The Spanish NGO Spanish Solidarity with Cuba was added yesterday to the World Day to Support the Campaign with the Same Currency, launched by the Latin American Federation of Rural Women (FLAMUR). Several members of NGOs, among them its chairman Ricardo Carreras Lario responsible for communication and Ángeles Altozano, distributed information leaflets for the campaign through the streets of Madrid and Zaragoza, respectively, in cities where the NGO has offices.
 
The day was also supporting events in Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Spain, United States, Mexico, Nicaragua, Poland, Romania, and Sweden, which announced the progress of the project is to insist that the Cuban government accept the Cuban peso in all establishments in the country to help restore the value of the currency.
 
"This day is of utmost importance at this moment, when Fidel Castro's resignation brings more highlighted the need for genuine change in Cuban society," said Magdelivia Hidalgo, in charge of International Relations for FLAMUR. "This change is reflected in the popular demands of our campaign beyond the official rhetoric does not produce concrete improvements in the living conditions of Cubans," she added.
